Kashmiri Scribes Stand Up for Freedoms and Rights, Watch

SRINAGAR: Journalists in Srinagar y held a silent protest rally to denounce the murder of Rising Kashmir journalist Shujaat Bukhari. Journalists assembled at Press Enclave in Srinagar and marched towards Lal Chowk where they held a silent sit-in for around half an hour.

The sit-in was to stand up for the right to speech and dissent, and an independent media. The journalists demanded a probe into the remarks by BJP legislator Lal Singh who had threatened Kashmiri scribes with a “Shujaat like” fate if they crossed the line.
