NEW DELHI: Waving brooms and party flags, holding placards, showering petals, singing songs and chanting "Paanch Saal Kejriwal" jubilant Aam Aadmi party supporters were all over the city cherishing their landslide victory in Delhi elections.

The supporters who came in large numbers to the party headquarters in the Patel Nagar area of West Delhi cheered loudly with the results being projected on the massive LCD screens. Waving tri colour flags, the gulal smeared supporters were dancing and singing till late into the evening, with their cheers reaching a crescendo when chief Arvind Kejriwal appeared briefly to thank them.

Inside the office, the leaders were distributing sweets to every visitor , with hugs and back slaps even as they found time to speak to the persistent television crews swarming the office.

"This is your victory and today you decided that Delhi is with AAP " said Kumar Vishwas to the cheering supporters from the balcony of the three storey office.

But the highlight was Kejriwal who urged his supporters not to be arrogant, and to accept the victory with humility. Amidst loud cheers he thanked the people of Delhi for their resounding support.

"Delhi decided and now we have to prove our promises. We moved ahead on the path of truth and won" said Arvind Kejriwal to the cheering crowd.

He added that AAP can't do anything without the people and asked them to stand by his side.

"I can't do anything alone... need your support, this mandate is scary" Kejriwal said.

"Everything will be fulfilled, water, power will provided as promised and corruption will be eradicated" said another AAP leader Ashish Khetan.

Bursting crackers, a dancing group of Auto rickshaw drivers who have emerged as a die hard AAP constituency said that "once again we will feel safe in Delhi.

" During the previous 49 days of AAP government, the police used to talk to us politely and after Kejriwal's resignation they started their normal abusive language" said an auto driver.

He added that fortunes have turned in their favour again. “Now the Delhi Police will once again have to mend their ways and learn how to talk to poor" he added.

Many politicians including Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Arvind Kejriwal for his landslide victory. The opposition parties embraced AAP with senior regional leaders tweeting in support.

"Spoke to @ArvindKejriwal & congratulated him on the win. Assured him Centre's complete support in the development of Delhi" the Prime Minister tweeted

BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi who lost her seat, and who till yesterday had been trashing the exit polls results ,congratulated Arvind Kejriwal and AAP for their victory.

"Full marks to Arvind. Congratulations. Now take Delhi to the heights it belongs to. Make it a world class city" Bedi tweeted

Meanwhile celebrations are going on in full swung at AAP office till filing this report with voters and candidates participating in the cheer from all across the national capital of India that has opened a new chapter in Indian politics.
