In a bid to improve the communities in which it operates, Chandru Raheja led K Raheja Corp has collaborated with Green Business Certification Institute (GBCI) to reinforce commitment for the World Green Building Week.

K Raheja Corp has always been committed to creating green and sustainable workspaces and living spaces. The group is leading the way with 45.70 mn sq feet of green building footprint across its commercial and residential portfolio in India. As a part of the holistic outreach program, multiple initiatives have been earmarked throughout the week. They are mainly based on promoting green workspaces, and their benefits to employees and businesses. Coffee Table Book: From site selection to waste management, Coffee Table Book showcases the widespread and precisely created business parks, which are centered on green. It also showcases open landscapes and steps taken to save water and power.

Social Media Plan: Presenting the best practices at business parks, multiple engaging videos have been created for social media. All these videos will be released across the company's social media handles during the week.

The 'World Green Building Week' is observed annually across the globe to emphasize on green building practices and sustainable initiatives which are beneficial for people and business organizations. The event encourages and authorizes organizations striving to become green building friendly.

The green mission is well-supported by Chairman Chandru Raheja and group president Mr Ravi Raheja, who formerly chaired the Mumbai chapter of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). All projects of K Raheja Corp in the residential, commercial, retail and hospitality segments are following the green building standards, particularly the LEED rating program, created by USGBC to provide a sustainable environment to all its stakeholders.

Some key highlights

- K Raheja Corp's green building footprint stands at 4.57 crore square feet as on Sept 2018. All commercial buildings constructed by the group have been LEED certified, since signing the MOU in 2007 with the CII-Indian Green Building Council.

- The green workspaces lead to 30-40%savings in operating costs for clients.

- The group has 31 LEED-certified commercial buildings across the country, along with 69 commercial projects registered with LEED rating system by the US Green Building Council.
