White House In the Dock For Doctored Video to Justify Banning CNN Reporter

Doctored video traced to right wing conspiracy site

US President Donald Trump who has a “hostile” relationship with the media outdid himself on November 7 at a press conference by getting into a slanging match with CNN White House reporter Jim Accosta simply because he did not like the questions on his migration policy. In fact as the video of the press conference below shows clearly, it was the US President who was being nasty, and rude even as he accused the reporter of being the same. Accosta kept his cool despite the provocation, and when an intern approached to snatch his mike, resisted verbally with an “Pardon me Ma’am” as he continued questioning the President.

Shortly after the White House banned Accosta and revoked his hard pass in a highly undemocratic and intolerant gesture that has been condemned by the American journalists across the country. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said that Accosta’s press access was suspended as he had placed his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as an intern. Sanders tweeted a video clip to justify her claim, but this has since been shown to be doctored. As can be seen below:

“This is a lie” Accosta said categorically. Since then the media has reported quoting experts that the video clip was doctored. And that the video was tinted red and made transparent over CSPAN video, that red motion is when they doctored the video speed, that it was ped up to make Acosta’s motion look like a chop. Sanders is under media scrutiny now, and reporters from CNN, Newsweek, the Washingto Post and others have traced the clip to InfoWars, a right wing conspiracy site run by Alex Jones.

"Absolutely shameful," CNN vice president of communications and digital partnerships Matt Dornic tweeted. "You released a doctored video – actual fake news. History will not be kind to you."
