NEW DELHI: Gordon Duff, a US Marine combat veteran of the Vietnam War who runs Veterans Today has joined many dots in an article that claims that the America’s 15 year occupation of Afghanistan has hurt it almost as much as “the land devastated by carpet bombings and drone attacks.” The article is being recirculated in India currently and has drawn considerable interest.

The article titled ‘How Afghanistan Defeated and Destroyed America’ goes on to argue that “the real story of the War on Terror was how America restructured her own government to manage drug operations on an unprecedented scale, protect international criminals and how the almost endless supply of unaccounted for cash bought the Bush presidency and helped bring about not just an American police state but one openly controlled by organized crime.”

The article makes an important argument that made The Citizen research team look into the individual points raised by the former US marine, to find that the subsequent picture emerging from the 15 years of the US in Afghanistan is sinister and frightening. And by joining the dots a narrative that was suspected, but now stands confirmed, emerges of the US invasion and occupation of Afghanistan.

As Duff wrote, “After 9/11 America went into Afghanistan for several reasons, none of which had anything to do with terrorism. Most are aware, as written by Zbigniew Brzezinski, that the Caspian Basin, which is anchored by Afghanistan, sits on not only massive hydrocarbon deposits but controls key “Silk Road” connectors between Europe and China as well. This would normally be enough but this would also require that a pack of thugs, and the Bush government was just that, think with their “big brain” and not their “little one.”

The Citizen research team found volumes of material in the public domain to expand on the points raised by the former US marine. Below are points raised by Duff in his strong article, backed and added to by TC researchers with at least one report from the western media/policy group per every point raised by Duff unravelling the plot behind the invasion and the monetary and mercenary use of the occupation:

Gordon Duff:
There was long a neocon plan in place to create not just a Greater Israel from the Nile to Euphrates, but as we all recognize, a new Ottoman Empire and perhaps a Roman Empire as well. Current moves to destabilize Europe under the guise of reactionary extremist political movements or even the New Cold War, become more transparent each day.

TC: The neocon plan has several articles written around it in the public domain. It has been reported and analysed by sections of the media and policy groups. For the purpose of this report The Citizen team decided to reproduce part of a report published by The Centre for Research on Globalization (CRG), an independent research and media organization based in Montreal. The editors note summarising the longer report states:

“The following document pertaining to the formation of “Greater Israel” constitutes the cornerstone of powerful Zionist factions within the current Netanyahu government (which has recently been re-elected), the Likud party, as well as within the Israeli military and intelligence establishment. The election was fought by Netanyahu on a political platform which denies Palestinian statehood.

When viewed in the current context, the war on Iraq, the 2006 war on Lebanon, the 2011 war on Libya, the ongoing war on Syria and Iraq, the war in Yemen, the process of regime change in Egypt, must be understood in relation to the Zionist Plan for the Middle East. The latter consists in weakening and eventually fracturing neighboring Arab states as part of an Israeli expansionist project.

“Greater Israel” consists in an area extending from the Nile Valley to the Euphrates.

The Zionist project supports the Jewish settlement movement. More broadly it involves a policy of excluding Palestinians from Palestine leading to the eventual annexation of both the West Bank and Gaza to the State of Israel.

Greater Israel would create a number of proxy States. It would include parts of Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, the Sinai, as well as parts of Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

According to Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya in a 2011 Global Research article, The Yinon Plan was a continuation of Britain’s colonial design in the Middle East:

“[The Yinon plan] is an Israeli strategic plan to ensure Israeli regional superiority. It insists and stipulates that Israel must reconfigure its geo-political environment through the balkanization of the surrounding Arab states into smaller and weaker states.

Israeli strategists viewed Iraq as their biggest strategic challenge from an Arab state. This is why Iraq was outlined as the centerpiece to the balkanization of the Middle East and the Arab World. In Iraq, on the basis of the concepts of the Yinon Plan, Israeli strategists have called for the division of Iraq into a Kurdish state and two Arab states, one for Shiite Muslims and the other for Sunni Muslims. The first step towards establishing this was a war between Iraq and Iran, which the Yinon Plan discusses.

The Atlantic, in 2008, and the U.S. military’s Armed Forces Journal, in 2006, both published widely circulated maps that closely followed the outline of the Yinon Plan. Aside from a divided Iraq, which the Biden Plan also calls for, the Yinon Plan calls for a divided Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria. The partitioning of Iran, Turkey, Somalia, and Pakistan also all fall into line with these views. The Yinon Plan also calls for dissolution in North Africa and forecasts it as starting from Egypt and then spilling over into Sudan, Libya, and the rest of the region.

Greater Israel” requires the breaking up of the existing Arab states into small states.

“The plan operates on two essential premises. To survive, Israel must 1) become an imperial regional power, and 2) must effect the division of the whole area into small states by the dissolution of all existing Arab states.

Gordon Duff: America’s first goal was to meld a regime between former Communists and the Uzbek and Tajik minorities of the “Northern Alliance.” The purpose for this was to rebuild Afghanistan’s old opium production capability destroyed by the Taliban and use American taxpayer cash to modernize it, refine it, build it on an advanced business model, and fund, with the trillions it would produce, global regime change.

Toward that end, USAID and the State Department began land redistribution projects in close partnership with Afghan drug lords who had been pushed into hiding by the Taliban. Now, with tens of thousands of US and NATO, along with other “coalition” read “drug” partners on the ground in Afghanistan, tens of thousands of acres could be converted for opium production using specialized fertilizers and aided by “nation building” irrigation projects, all of which only went toward narcotics production.

In order to avoid the loss of profits from exporting hundreds of tons of opium paste to Turkey or into Kosovo/Albania, heroin production facilities were constructed across Afghanistan. Some were to be entirely owned by Karzai lieutenants while others were controlled by member of America’s congress and by large financial supporters of the Bush presidency.

TC: Breitbart News Network,a politically conservative American news and opinion website headquartered in Los Angeles reported:

“Opium is Afghanistan’s most valuable cash crop, and opiates—opium, morphine, and heroin—are its largest export, with an estimated value of $3 billion at border prices,” mentioned SIGAR (Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction) in its October 2014 quarterly report to (US) Congress. The estimated $3 billion value is the equivalent of about 15 percent 0f Afghanistan’s 2013 Gross Domestic Product.

SIGAR reported in December 2014 that U.S. taxpayer-funded reconstruction efforts may have contributed to the booming opium trade in Afghanistan.

“Certain reconstruction efforts such as improved irrigation, roads, and agricultural assistance can actually lead to increased opium cultivation,” revealed the report. “SIGAR’s Special Project found that affordable deep-well technology turned 200,000 hectares [about 772 square miles] of desert in southwestern Afghanistan into arable land over the past decade.”

“Due to relatively high opium prices and the rise of an inexpensive, skilled, and mobile labor force, much of this newly arable land is dedicated to opium cultivation” it continued. “Poppy-growing provinces that were once declared ‘poppy free’ have seen a resurgence in cultivation.”

Gordon Duff: the Pentagon knew how to do is steal. Few now remember that immediately before the 9/11 attacks, the Department of Defense announced a 2+ trillion-dollar shortfall which was under investigation by a special unit that were all killed during the 9/11 attack. They were never replaced, the money was never found, the shortfall was never mentioned again.

TC: This news video further confirms this :

Gordon Duff: Toward that end, the Bush administration began “privatization” efforts for not just the Pentagon but CIA as well with a second “shadow CIA” set up using private contracting companies under the direct control of the DeVos family, whose son in law founded Blackwater.

TC: The Washington Post had carried a report on Blackwater in 2007. Excerpts:

“Erik D. Prince, the crew-cut, square-jawed founder of Blackwater USA, the security contractor now at the center of a political storm in both Washington and Baghdad, is a man seemingly born to play a leading role in the private sector side of the war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He is both a former member of the Navy Seals and the scion of a fabulously wealthy, deeply religious family that is enmeshed in Republican Party politics. As a result, the 38-year-old Mr. Prince stands at the nexus between American Special Operations, which has played such a critical role in the war operations, and the nation’s political and business elite, who have won enormous government contracts as war operations have increasingly been outsourced.

Mr. Prince’s sister, Betsy DeVos, married into one of the most politically active conservative families in the Midwest. She has served as the chairwoman of the Republican Party of Michigan, and last year, her husband, Richard DeVos Jr., ran unsuccessfully for governor of Michigan as the Republican candidate. Mr. Prince and his family have given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republican candidates and other conservative and religious causes, records show. One favorite: the prison ministry of Charles Colson, the former Watergate felon turned Christian prison evangelist.

Unlike many other young men who inherit great wealth, Mr. Prince also struck out on his own and joined the Navy Seals at a time when few other men of his economic class were willing to serve in the military. After his father died and left him a fortune, Mr. Prince’s experience in Special Operations led him to found Blackwater, and he has made a point of hiring other former members of the Navy Seals, including some who now play prominent management roles.

But now that Blackwater is under scrutiny for its involvement in the Sept. 16 shootings of as many as 17 Iraqis in downtown Baghdad, some critics are questioning whether Mr. Prince’s political connections have propelled the company’s sudden rise.

Gordon Duff: Private efficiency was eventually replaced by a new style of “bandit privatization.” This led to a revolving door of black prisons and mercenary armies and made America’s rendition program nothing more than front for not only drug business but human and in particular “human organ” trafficking as well.”

Then again, a human body could be “field stripped” for organs by “Doctors without Scruples” and recoup even more investment, selling off organ after organ, flying them around the world on privatized “above the law” CIA planes hosted by Gaddafi’s Libya.

Protecting it all is the Federal Bureau of Investigation. They have received literally hundreds of reliable reports of these activities over the years and have quashed every investigation. Those who have tried to move against this cabal have been murdered, dozens of American officials assassinated by State Department contract killers.

TC:The media is flooded with reports confirming human a sharp hike in human trafficking, and human organ sales. The following link further emphasises the role of the private US companies in Afghanistan

War correspondent and freelance journalist Jane Stillwater brings out the issue best in a blog for the Baltimore Chronicle where she writes:

I just heard an eyewitness account of life in Afghanistan that curdled my blood. Have you heard similar reports? "Since the American takeover of Afghanistan, the major crops there are now opium, human organs and children." What is the lowest denominator that human beings can sink to? It's all happening in American Afghanistan.

Besides these well-known incompetencies, corruptions and crimes against humanity, what else is new in American Afghanistan?

"Children in Afghanistan are being kidnapped--from off the streets and even from out of their homes." According to the Pakistan News Service, one Afghani father was asked to pay $4,500 in ransom for his kidnapped son. At first the kidnappers sent the distraught father his son's finger--with a note attached saying, "Next time it will be his head." The father payed the ransom money. The boy was returned naked and drugged.

In American Afghanistan, young girls are being sold to American contractors to use for sex. "Even the American-sponsored hospitals are not safe. There have been instances of girls and young women going there, being anesthetized for one reason or another and then, when they come out of the anesthesia, discovering that they have been raped."

Children have become a cash crop in American Afghanistan. Our "Northern Alliance" buddies are harvesting children over there just like the way we in America are harvesting wheat.

In American Afghanistan, there is another all-too-familiar harvest: Human organs. "It is a common occurrence for the bodies of young people to be found with their hearts, kidneys, livers and even their eyes carefully and surgically cut out." No organ is wasted. What would you call this? Recycling? Ecology? Organic farming?

This is our "Christian" government's finest hour? America's presentation of democracy to the world? This behavior sickens me. Usually I like to suggest some upbeat answer to every problem but I don't even want to talk about it any more.
