NEW DELHI: We are approaching wedding season, which means plenty of merriment, exhaustion, colours, traffic jams, jaegerbombs, outfit woes and for some of us, weeklong blackouts. Now add to the fray actually getting married, and you’re in for months of planning -- food, music, venues and most importantly, decor. That last word can make or break your wedding. Decor can transform the humblest of venues; it can illuminate your tiny front garden and convert that boring multipurpose hotel venue into the setting of your psychedelic dreams.

If you’re readying to tie the knot and reading this, I don’t mean to give you a heart attack. Rub on some soothing lemon balm (oh trust me, you will thank me for this stress tackling tip come wedding week) and read on. This weekend, Rani Pink Weddings -- billed as “India’s answer to customized wedding design and décor and complete wedding planning with over 70 weddings under their belt” -- held a spectacular launch of their special studio at Shahpur Jat, New Delhi.

I follow them on Instagram, and my feed was full of fuchsia drapes, beautiful patterned tiles, calming cream meshes, sparkling chandeliers, brocade gold walls, and stunning floral arrangements. I swear, Instagram has never looked so pretty.

The store itself was even prettier. The three looks for this season showcased at the Rani Pink studio covered a Mehendi, Sangeet/Cocktail and grand wedding look. The Tamarind Courtyard look was inspired by all things Jaipur featuring drapes in gold zari work, statement brass pieces consisting of tuberoses and mogra floral arrangements along with beautifully decorated achaar martabans and gold urlis. Detailed wall panels with mirror work and block patterns made for a stunning backdrop. The Blue Room look featured more of a cocktail or sangeet theme; Royal velvety blues amid sparkling chandeliers with stunning gold brocade walls for a backdrop surrounded by blood red roses. The wedding look was showcased through the Rani Pink room look; a pink paradise of tassels in different shades of pink sparked by the beauty of gota in an array of textures and patterns. Lots of Indian drama with mini mirror trucks and candy pink flowers to add that element of fun.

This was the invite to their launch:

On the day, Founder and CEO, Anika Dhawan said, “The most important thing for success in this business is creativity. If your work is different and you pay attention to detail then people will stand up and take notice wherever you may be. Also an important aspect for me is that I look at each wedding as the most important day of someone’s life and not just an event. This comes with great responsibility and drives us to do better and work harder in order to create life-long memories for our clients. The Rani Pink Studio is built with the same passion and love, we are eager to create dream weddings within customized and bespoke elements and budgets that work for everyone. We look forward to creating unforgettable visual experiences and memories for everyone.”
