Ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr, Jammu and Kashsmir authorities have imposed strict restrictions in most parts of Kashmir valley, particularly Srinagar, on Eid to prevent public movement amid the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

Eid celebrations in Kashmir on Thursday were a low-key affair as most marked the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan by offering thanksgiving prayers at home in view of the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

No Eid prayers were offered for the second consecutive year in major mosques and shrines of Kashmir as police enforced restrictions in most parts of the valley including Srinagar city, officials said.
