SRINAGAR: Militants allegedly shot dead a street hawker and another person in Srinagar on Tuesday shortly after gunning down a prominent pharmacy owner in a separate attack.

The street hawker was killed at Madin Sahib in Hawal, Srinagar while the other person was shot in the locality of Hajin.

Earlier, Makhan Lal Bindroo, owner of a prominent pharmacy was shot dead by militants in Iqbal Park, at point blank range while interacting with customers, police officials said.

Bindroo was rushed to the SMHS hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to reports Bindroo was among the Pandit Kashmiris who did not leave the Valley following the rise in extremism in 1990.

Bindroo Healthzone, the shop run by him and his wife, is a famous medical shop in Srinagar.

A third civilian, Mohammad Shafi Lone, was shot dead in Bandipora district. He was a resident of Naidkhai village in Shahgund, police said.

The street hawker victim, a non-local according to reports, used to sell bhelpuri at a roadside stall in Srinagar, and was staying at Alamgari Bazar in the city’s Zadibal area. He was killed near Madina Chowk in Lalbazar, according to police.
