    Director Almishkat Centre for Research, Egypt (www.almishkat.org) Founding Lead author, Arab Human development Report, 2002-2005, UNDP and AFESD. Obtained his B.Sc. from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina in the USA. He is presently Director of Almishkat Centre for Research and Training in Cairo. Taught and undertaken research at numerous institutions in Egypt and outside and acted as a consultant to many Arab and international organisations. Published on demography, international migration, labour markets, education and development in Egypt and the Arab countries
