NEW DELHI: Former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi has resurfaced after a long gap. Well sort of in that from innocuous posts he has shared some family details with the world again.

His fathers 75th birthday bash has got Modi a little excited on Facebook, with the big bash clearly being something to write home about. However, the 50 something cricket administrator wanted for fraud in India has been fairly conservative by his standards, posting just two videos and one press clipping about the event that had people dropping by from all corners of the world.

By the way for the gullible that is not US President Barack Obama but a mimic who is good, and kept the party swinging. The party was held in what the chattering classes would dub an exotic destination, at Taipei Taiwan with fireworks, animated tributes and guests and family flying in from all corners of the world. Mid-Day did carry a gossip snippet on August 31, claiming that what stood out at the glitzy event “was the exuberant love displayed by IPL founder and high-profile exile Lalit Modi for his dad.” This report too was posted by Modi on his Facebook page that carries the hastag #not a fugitive. And announces FightCorruption.Org coming soon!

Little otherwise has been heard from Lalit Modi for a while now. Actually since March 2016 after the Enforcement Directorate claimed to have got court permission to launch extradition proceedings against Modi. Anon bailable warrant had been issued against him by the courts late last year, and the ED had moved to request the Interpol for a Red Corner Notice against the colourful and incorrigible cricket administrator. But in case anyone was at all worried, all seems to be well with Lalit Modi the only difference being that he is not sharing with the Indian media, preferring to slip below the radar of intrusive publicity.
