The result for the first leg of JEE Main 2019 that was conducted from January 6th to January 12th, 2019 have now been declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

NTA was setup as the official exam conducting authority of JEE Main 2019, this is the first successful conduct of the exam by the agency. JEE Main Result were announced by NTA on its official website.

Over 8 lakh candidates took the JEE Main 2019 January leg exam. As per the analysis, among the total number of candidates who took the exam, 15 have scored a perfect 100 percentile this year. The ranks of candidates are not computed as the final rank would be released after the conduction of April leg of JEE Main 2019 exam.

This is the first time that candidates would get a chance to improve their performance in the JEE Main exam. The best of the two scores would be considered for the purpose of counselling cum admission process.

Shubhanakar Gambhir and Raj Aryan were among the toppers who secured 100 percentile score in the JEE Main 2019 exam. This is for the first time when scores of the candidates have been compiled in percentile basis as earlier the marks obtained out of a total of 360 were utilized for the purpose of deciding the rank of the candidate.

Post the JEE Main Result announcement, toppers shared their exam experience and discussed some points that one should keep in mind during the preparation phase of the April examination.

Shubhankar Gambhir, from Kota, Rajasthan said that it was his first attempt at JEE Main exam. He was happy to score a perfect 100 percentile. Shubhankar also added that this year’s JEE Main exam tested the applied knowledge of the subject more than the memorizing ability. He said that practicing previous year JEE Main question paper helped him a lot in terms of understanding the type of questions that are asked from a particular topic.

Raj Aryan from Pune said that he was expecting to be among top 50 but a 100 percentile score is a surprise for him. He said that his interest in Mathematics and Science drove him towards a career in engineering. Raj advises the aspiring candidates to prepare for JEE Main with full focus but at the same time don’t revolve your life around it.

Gaurav Singh another JEE Main 2019 topper who hails from UP said that he is aiming at JEE Advanced. This success in JEE Main is not a very special thing. He said that though he is surprised by this result but he is focused on performing well in the JEE Advanced 2019 exam.

Jayesh Singla the JEE Main 2019 topper from Punjab said he wasn’t expecting a 100 percentile, though the expectations of a high score was there. Jayesh said that he dedicated 5 to 6 hours for studies daily and covered the NCERT books thoroughly for each of the subjects.

JEE Main 2019: April Leg Important dates

The second leg of JEE Main 2019 is set for April this year. Post the completion of JEE Main 2019 April leg the All India Rank (combined for January and April) would be released. Top 2.24 lakh performers in the JEE Main 2019 would go forward to compete in the JEE Advanced 2019 to grab a seat in the IITs.
